When considering buying a home you have to follow a check list of all the things you need to do in order to avoid any further issues. One line in your check list should be to have the home, you planned to purchase, inspected. Why is it so important? Buying a home will be one of the most important purchases you will make in your lifetime, so you should be sure that the home you want to buy is in good condition. And it will reveal defects before you close the deal.

The first step in inspecting a home is to examine the big picture for the home. Notice the area the home is located in. Are there other homes of similar age and construction details relative to the home you are inspecting? A comparison will give you a general idea of the upkeep of the home. Have there been significant modifications to the exterior of the building and if so, how is the workmanship?

Everyone who buys or sells a house, apartment or condo is going to use a home inspector at one time or another and even though you pretty much know what they do, many of you might have more appreciation for them once you learn more details of there chosen profession.
